In autumn 2025, Mancave Artisan travelled through northern Sweden and Norway in search of forgotten automotive history.
The weather could not have been better. Under clear skies and across thousands of kilometres, we visited remote locations, private collections and hidden storage sites rarely seen by the public.
The mission was successful.
Among the discoveries were a DKW 3=6 rear section, Ford Knudsen Taunus rear section, Ford Taunus P5 front and rear sections, Opel Rekord P1 and P2 sections, a Vauxhall Velox front, an Austin Cambridge rear section, a Morris Minor front, a Fargo truck front and even a rare Simca 8 front section.
In total, around fifteen front and rear sections were secured for future Mancave Artisan projects.
Every one of these pieces carries its own history. Some vehicles had stood untouched for decades. Others survived in barns, workshops and remote storage locations far from modern roads.
The journey home presented an unexpected challenge.
Near Hamburg, the gearbox of our Iveco began to fail. What initially sounded like a minor mechanical issue quickly developed into a complete gearbox failure.
But the mission continued.
With the help of a brand-new Volvo, all rescued vehicle sections safely reached their destination. Ten days later, the Iveco returned with a new gearbox, ready for future expeditions.
Because every Automöbel begins with a story.
Sometimes that story starts thousands of kilometres away, on a road through Scandinavia, with a forgotten vehicle waiting to be discovered.
