Almost a decade ago, my friend Peter and I travelled north to Sweden.
There was no business plan. No clear concept. No idea of what Mancave Artisan would one day become. We simply wanted to explore old scrapyards, discover forgotten cars, take photos and collect impressions.
Somewhere between rows of weathered vehicles, surrounded by rust, silence and stories left behind, Peter suddenly looked at one of the old car fronts and said:
“You know, a front like this would actually make a pretty cool piece for a living room.”
At first, we laughed.
But the thought stayed.
A few hours later, I found myself standing in front of a Ford Taunus P2. Its front had something special. Character. Presence. Time written into the metal. It was not just an old piece of steel. It felt like a fragment of automotive history waiting for a second life.
That same day, the front section was carefully removed.
Not as a finished product. Not as furniture. Not even as a business idea.
It was simply a feeling. A vision we could not ignore.
Back then, I would never have imagined that this moment on a Swedish scrapyard would become the beginning of something much bigger. That one spontaneous thought, somewhere in northern Sweden, would later grow into handcrafted automotive furniture.
Today, we know that some ideas do not begin in offices or on paper.
They begin in forgotten places.
With old metal.
With curiosity.
And with the question:
What could this become?
