Almost a decade ago, my friend Peter and I set off on a journey to northern Sweden.
There was no business plan. No brand. No roadmap.
We simply wanted to explore forgotten scrapyards, discover abandoned vehicles, take photographs and experience a side of automotive history that most people never get to see.
Over the course of several days, we encountered hundreds of classic cars slowly returning to nature. Ford Taunus models, Rover saloons, Volvos, Opels, Saabs and countless other vehicles stood silently among trees, moss and rust. Each one carried its own story.
At one particular scrapyard, while walking between rows of forgotten cars, Peter suddenly stopped and pointed at an old front end.
“You know… a car front like that would actually make pretty cool living room decor.”
We laughed.
But the idea stayed with us.
A few hours later, I found myself standing in front of a Ford Taunus P2. Its distinctive front grille, elegant lines and weathered chrome immediately caught my attention. It wasn't just an old car anymore. It felt like a piece of automotive history that deserved a second life.
That same day, the front section was carefully removed and brought home. Not to become furniture immediately, but because it represented a vision.
A vision that old vehicles could be preserved in a completely different way.
At the time, neither of us could have imagined that this simple moment in a remote Swedish scrapyard would eventually become the foundation of Mancave Artisan.
What began as curiosity evolved into a passion for automotive furniture, automotive art and preserving forgotten vehicles through craftsmanship and design.
Today, every piece we create carries a part of that original idea.
Because some projects do not start with market research, investors or business plans.
Sometimes they begin with a forgotten Ford Taunus P2, a conversation between friends and a simple question:
